TORTURED SOUL

Blackness fills every sky
Loneliness smothers my very being
Will I ever surface to breathe air
And find happiness in this lifetime.

Oblivious to sounds and sights
Captured by my ever present weakness
The flower of my youth long past away
Overshadowed by a strange, unknown future.

Take my hand and guide me back
Comfort me with sweet words and feeling
Touch my heart and keep it safe
For it is within you that I will be free.
