Send in your Works! Dear poets and writers of the world. Now that my own dream of getting published has been reached, I have gained a new dream: That your dream of getting published can be reached. Thus The Hug-Loving Freaks of Archflambeoth, and the site's readers, are working together to create the best anthology out there, and solve the good poetry anthology problem. The problem is that I don't agree with most winner's decisions (and no, not just because it's not me who wins) or the whole "pay and you can be in it" line. The first rewards the wrong people for reasons unknown, and promotes bad poetry by example. The second spreads bad poetry around, after all the publishers of the "pay and you can be in it" books care more about getting more money than they are about saving the quality of work within their book.  The deal is that we are going to take however many submissions of however long of poems/prose from however many people want to submit, and put the ones that we think are the best of the bunch in a book. I doesn't matter how old you are, what color your hair is, or how much money you give me (I do take charity money, if anybody would like to send me money. It will help us publish more books, but it won't get you published any more than not giving me any money will), it just matters how good your poetry is.Under no circumstances will anyone who donated poetry see any cash from its sales, but no one will have to spend any either. But the popularity of this book will depend on you. We are just starting out in the world, and do not have representatives on all corners of the world yet. What we need from the people who submit, or just anyone who wants to get involved, is for you to do your best to sell the book in your area by either directing individual people to the website, or by getting your local book stores to carry it. Just remember that this is NOT mandatory though, it will just help greatly with the sales and popularity of the book. These books have already put me in debt, so I can not continue to fund this project out of my pocket indefinitely. If this book does well, then hopefully we can do it again next year, and yet again after that until the entire world notices us. Feel free to start sending your submittions to The Master Storyweaver and put "Mumbles" somewhere in the subject line. If you will let me post your works in my Guest sections then let me know by writting a small note before or after the submitted poem. Also if you wish to include a short bio (250 words or less) once you've got work(s) accepted, then feel free. Please wait until we've finished the book to get your local stores to carry it, though you're free to help us out with Freaks' Thoughts, as it isn't carried in many stores as of yet. Wish us luck!! |
The Voices
| The second contribution to the world by the Hug-Loving Freaks will be The Voices. This is a collection of related Stories, Poems, and Prose about what happens when our thoughts no longer belong to us. It is a bit on the dark side, but life is not just a plate of cookies. This is a journey deeper than you might want to venture into Archflambeoth, so if you are faint of heart, set your sites on brighter tales. At the moment the book is still in the works, but any news of worth will be posted here. |
